ACCOUNTABILITIES AND OUTPUTS:
•The Continuous Improvement Engineer, working closely with the Manufacturing Manager and Regional Operational Manager to strategically implement lean
manufacturing to continually improve the production process.
•Liaise with external suppliers to ensure equipment and consumables used are appropriate to the operations and are the most efficient solution.
•Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout the manufacturing facility and processes.
•Contribute to all pillar/module initiatives for the Lean program rollout to ensure that improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business.
•PMO management adherence as per PMBOK standards
•PMO duties to be executed around initiation, scoping and implementation of Capex projects
•PMO management – MS projects development and updates
•PMO management – Budget and Cost adherence and recon’s
•PMO management – Risk and Safety Management
•PMO management – Executive Summaries, Communication and Stakeholder Management
•PMO management – Project tracking adherence for cost, time and quality standards
•PMO management – link to NPD and EPD initiatives and scoping and supporting all
•PMO management – Documentation and process control
•PMO management – support Program Manager on all projects processes and all administration around project management
•Life Cycle Management and ensuring cradle to grave systems management is followed
•Systems Thinking and Engineering practices according to INCOSE standards
• Host/Facilitate Lean Manufacturing improvement events.
•Facilitates new initiatives via change management best practices
•Ensure the factory layout, both at macro and micro levels, is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process.
•Risk and Safety Analysis for front end engineering scoping
•HAZOP and HACCP analysis facilitation and gap closure with full documentation
•SHER analysis for all projects
•P&ID development and detailed process engineering for all systems and processes
•Production process design, data collection and waste stream mapping
•Production data and process analysis
•Spreadsheet modelling and analysis
•Process and value stream mapping
•Support and participation in continuous improvement or Lean/waste projects
•Focus on all waste reduction and link to sustainable processes of Lean Manufacturing Systems
•Standardization of tasks and processes, (All procedures documented)
•Documentation of procedures and one-point lessons.
•Implement tools such as Process Capability.
•Develop DFM, working closely with Design.
•Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of metrics and best practices.
•Work with Quality and Test to deliver a robust and cost-effective end to end process.
•Maintain KPI targets in line with business strategy.
•Assist in setting annual operational targets and drive improvements to achieve those targets.
•Identify and implement new technologies, specification of requirements, Capex justification, planning and implementation.
•Provide World Class Manufacturing techniques to support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
•Benchmarking globally on best practices and development/implementation of the practices
•Ensures innovation and technology management best practices are developed and strategy input
•Facilitate team building exercises or events
•Provides team-based rewards and performance measures
•Develops a team charter and guidelines boundaries with other teams or business units
•Provides role clarity and defines boundaries with other teams or business units
•Clarifies assignments and accountabilities within the team
Process and Engineering Management
•Design according to best engineering standards – responsibility for safety and adherence to practical engineering execution protocols.
•Hold self-accountable to ensure all engineering details and calculations are checked and verified in advance
•Facilitate technical engineering discussions with all stakeholders
•Ensure benchmarking around best practices and engagement
•Ability to communicate to all levels on all forms of wastage and process optimization

•Honors Degree level qualified in an appropriate Engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial or chemical)

•Demonstrable knowledge practically of implementing lean manufacturing/continuous improvement
•Six sigma green/black belt qualification would be desirable
•At least 3-5 years working experience of which 1 year must be with process engineering related projects and 1-2 years on project management work as a
•Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies and systems planning.
•Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred
•Proven ability to self-manage and deliver on time to budget.
•Excellent inter-personal skills to build relationship internally and externally.
•MS Projects Experience/Skill as well as Engineering Simulation and Design Package Experiences/Skill
•Advanced Excel abilities
•Reliable and flexible in their approach
