Description

A dynamic organisation based in the West Rand , that will be relocating to the East Rand soon is looking for a Import & Export Clerk with minimum 3 years in a commercial environment that is available immediately.

Key Responsibility Areas Imports & Exports

Planning and execution of stock ordering including forecasting schedule together with the management of shipping schedules.

Prioritizing and delegation of import files.

Placing and monitoring Purchase Orders, including chasing and liaising with suppliers for optimized shipping and airfreight procedures.

Tracking shipments from collection to collection and arrival.

Document control for Customs Clearing procedures.

Checking and approving Forwarders/Clearing Agent’s invoices and charges.

Preparing and checking of Import costing sheets.

Booking in of shipments received into the system timeously.

Negotiations with and ongoing supervision of Forwarders/Clearing Agents/Transporters.

Customs Duty and Customs related matters.

Maintaining Shipping / Payment schedules for monthly payments to overseas suppliers.

Preparation of foreign Bank Transfers to affiliates, with related supporting documents to be submitted to the bank with related documentation.

Liaising with staff daily with regard to queries and information on airfreight and shipping requirements.

Additional Function

Liaising with MD and staff on matters pertaining to the organisation’s operations

Assisting in researching and assembling information for the preparation of reports

Preparing reports, briefing notes, memoranda, correspondence and other routine documents

Maintaining appointment diaries and confidential files and documents

Co-coordinating Travel and Accommodation arrangements for the MD

Arranging and Attending meetings and acting as secretary as required in addition to distribution minutes of meetings

Processing incoming and outgoing mail, filing correspondence and maintaining records

Screening telephone calls and answering enquiries

Taking and transcribing dictation of letter and other documents

Computer Package

Extensive experience on ERP and MIS systems (Syspro / SAP)

MS Office
