Qualifications

4 year Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing Management
Primary Objectives of the Position

The ideal candidate will have a 4 year Engineering or Manufacturing Management tertiary qualification with at least 5 years manufacturing experience, 2 of which should be at a managerial level preferably within the Food Processing environment. They will be responsible for the co-ordination of activities across a production facility in it's entirety in order to meet the required profit, quality and service standards. A key component of the role is delivering to forecast by balancing raw material supply versus production requirements through the efficient use of manpower, equipment and materials. An ability to analyse and report on data is essential as is the need for strong people management skills in a Unionised environment, as they will have direct reports and be full accountability for all plant activity i.e. production, engineering, quality control and stores. Strong verbal and written communication skills will be a critical in ensuring success in this role. Experience in plant optimisation and continuous improvement will be advantageous. The role requires an individual who is self-motivated and able to deliver autonomously. Previous experience within Food manufacturing, particularly cereals and the management of a co-packing arrangements will be advantageous. This role is based in Epping, Western Cape, shift work is not required and business travel requirements are minimal and constitute approx 5% of the role.
