Description

The aim of the Operations Supervisor is to ensure that a number of tasks are carried out on site and on shift, with regard to Safety, Environment and Productivity, and to ensure there is good client engagement and employee management.

Supervision and management of the water and waste water Contracts assigned to him/her, (or others as may be determined), to comply with legal and operational requirements.

Responsible and accountable for plant performances/compliance of all the plants which reports to him/her.

Reports to be submitted on a monthly basis to Clients and to Snr Management.

Overseeing and management of the labour compliment assigned to the works.

Handling of all related administrative, logistical, operational and industrial relations activities and responsibilities, pertaining to the sites.

Keeping stock control and other required log sheets, updated.

Reporting of all stock control and other required log sheets, to Senior Management.

Interpreting certificates of analysis and taking corrective measures.

Liaison with other Water and operational personnel, clients and other role-players and special interest groups.

Ensure proper control of Health and Safety procedures and processes.

Overall planning, leading, organising and controlling of all operational, material and human resources.

Manage contracts, daily costing, and ad-hoc services.

Check and interpret compliance reports.

Be able to be a work place coach.

Manage general administration as is required.

Attending of monthly SHE, client and ad hoc meetings.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

National Diploma in Water and/or Waste Water or equivalent

Class I / II (or higher) DWA Process controller Certificate will be an advantage

EXPERIENCE

2 years’ experience in Water and Waste Water Operations.

Previous exposure and experience in a Contracting and Production environment on mines.

Experience in the handling of project funds and management of resources.

SKILLS, QUALITIES and ABILITIES REQUIRED

Be able to manage people reporting to him/her.

Technical report writing skills pertaining to the water and wastewater treatment works performance.

Excellent people management and communication skills.

A high level of on-site problem solving abilities.

Be able to work independently without constant supervision.

A valid driver’s licence; driving competence to be evaluated and tested; must pass drivers evaluation process.

Medically fit, as per standards from the specific Mines.

Computer literacy (Word, Excel and Outlook).
