Project objectives aligned to this position:

•General project support;
•Logistical support for fieldworkers and HSRC staff;
•Fieldwork monitoring and support;
•Reconciliation of all fieldwork registers, advance reconciliations and supplier payments

Key Responsibilities:
•Assist the Programme and Financial Manager with the implementation of the project.
•Communicating with Principal Investigators, Co-Principal Investigators about project, events or campaign expectations and goals.
•Assisting with implementing the project and field work plans across all the nine provinces of South Africa.
•Coordinate field work teams, Provincial Coordinators, Supervisors, Team Leaders and Enumerators for field work data collection.
•Coordinate transport logistics for data collectors, researchers and the management team.
•Coordinate the booking of accommodation and welfare of the field work team.
•Provide coordination and implementation of community entry strategy and plan.
•Provide support to the Principal Investigators and Co-Principal Investigators with requisite support for coordinating sub committees for the project team.
•Organising third-party providers and vendors to deliver elements that cannot be produced in-house.
•Assisting with overseeing the delivery of project expectations and adjusting these as necessary to ensure that the project is delivered to stated specifications and high standards.

Key Requirements:
•Minimum of a degree from a recognized university. A postgraduate qualification in Project Management and related experience will be an added advantage;
•Experience in research project planning/coordination/management;
•Fluency in English and any of the local languages in South Africa;
•Flexibility and willingness to take on additional tasks as per requirement;
•High personal motivation and self-management;
•Articulate and tactful communication skills;
•Accuracy and attention to detail;
•Prior experience with HSRC will be an added advantage;
•Good interpersonal, facilitation, and problem-solving skills;
•Successful applicants will be evaluated during training and over the duration of the project and if any part of this work is not completed to the satisfactory level as required, the appointment will be terminated;
